A Visit from Judge Vincent Lotti

We were pleased to host State Court Chief Judge, Vincent Lotti as our guest speaker, August 5th.  Judge Lotti educated us on what State court is all about and the initiatives he is involved in.  State Court handles misdemeanors and traffic violations to include DUI court which offers an intense rehabilitation program for multiple offenders.  Although this program requires strong commitment from offenders Judge Lotti spoke about the incredible success rate of those that commit, “not one person has been seen back” in his court for a repeat offense after graduating from the program.  Judge Lotti is also proud of a piloted program around mental health cases and providing resources and assistance for these individuals.  This is mainly a program that he runs voluntarily providing flexibility to treat each individual based on their health needs and circumstances.  As Henry County State Court balances the increasing cases of our fast growing county they will assess the need for adding a 5th Judge in the future.
