Mayor Series
Mayor Anthony Ford, city of Stockbridge

This week we began our Mayor Series, featuring mayors from each city in Henry County.  Thank you to Stockbridge Mayor, Anthony Ford for sharing some time with us this week as our guest speaker.  We really enjoyed hearing from you about all the exciting developments happening in the city of Stockbridge.

Stockbridge and McDonough have an ongoing see saw of being named the largest city by population in Henry County.  Stockbridge currently holds the title with roughly 36,000 residents.

There have been many economic developments in the works thru out Stockbridge in the last few years.  Most recently the growth on Jodeco Road, a live, work and shop model that has come to fruition in part and is still expanding with many more exciting additions to include a 5 Star Hotel.  The Amphitheater at the Bridge in Stockbridge has been very successful in providing an attractive venue for entertainment and is now in it’s 4th year of operation.  Phase two of the downtown Stockbridge development and revitalization project is on the horizon to include road structure improvements, pathways connecting communities to downtown areas and a Pedestrian Bridge over the railroad tracks leading to the Amphitheater.    A major feat in getting phase 2 going was to establish a quiet zone agreement with Norfolk Southern which Mayor Ford was proud to inform us has been approved.  In addition, Mayor Ford was very excited to share that Stockbridge was selected as the location for a new Henry County STEM school to be built and opened in August 2026.  All of these developments are possible in part due to SPLOST funding.  As the slogan of Stockbridge goes, Stockbridge is where we connect, thank you for connecting with Rotary today Mayor Ford and sharing these updates, we appreciate your time and informative presentation.
