The Blessing Bag Project was inspired by the personal experience of one of our Rotary members. Tami Sellers' brother suffered from mental illness and homelessness most of his adult life. When she would have an opportunity to visit with him, he always had bags with his belongings that had been generously given to him. When he passed away, she collected his bags and found essential items and was grateful for the people who had cared for him. Even though she would never be able to repay them, her passion became serving the marginalized homeless people without judgement.
As our service project to support Tami's vision the club set a date to assemble blessings bags. We invited the Henry County Relief Aid Cooperative to participate in contributing items, assembling and distributing the bags.
