Don't Miss Out!
Dunwoody Arts Festival Returns May 7-9 ... We Need Your Help and Support

A big thank you to the ten Dunwoody Rotarians who have volunteered to help with Arts Festival set-up on Friday, May 7 - and to those of you who have signed up to welcome visitors to our Dunwoody Rotary booth at the Festival on Saturday and Sunday.

Haven't signed up and still want to help?

  • Check with Carter Stout about opportunities in the Dunwoody Rotary booth - volunteers are working three hour shifts on either Saturday or Sunday
  • We are also looking for up to six volunteers on Sunday from 5-7 pm to help artists exit in a smooth and orderly fashion. Please contact Kathy Brandt if you'd like to volunteer for the Sunday shift.

Visit Brook Run This Weekend

Even if you're not volunteering, take time to enjoy the festival - drop by Brook Run on Saturday, May 8, 10AM to 6PM, Sunday May 9, from 10AM to 5PM. For more information on the Festival, visit the Dunwoody Arts Festival website.

Making a Difference
Club Helps Bring Oxygen to India's COVID-19 Patients

When Mike Parks shared a heartbreaking request from the Rotary Alumni Association of former Rotary Youth Exchange students in India (Rotex India D3054) for donations to provide oxygen to COVID-19 patients there, your members and board went into action late last week - approving a grant to India in record time for $2,000 (including $625 from interested members). Before 11:15 am this past Monday, the money was on its way to India via approved web sites that accepted the club's ATM card.

This could not have been done without assistance from our members for funding and sourcing approved web sites that allowed us to get this money to India quickly and economically. Thanks to Cathie Brumfield for her help with making the financial side work! It was a true Team Dunwoody effort to do what we could to assist.

If you committed to be part of this, your checks to the Dunwoody Rotary Charitable Fund should go to Cathie Brumfield. If you wish you could have signed up to contribute, it's not too late. We had hoped to raise $1,000 in matching funds but only raised $625 given the time. Reach out to Cathie Brumfield if you would like to be part of this effort. Thanks to all for making this happen.

Coins for Alzheimer's Research Trust (CART) ... Help Meet Our Challenge Goal

Last week, we were all moved by Charlene Hall's presentation about Alzheimer's, and the medical research that is made possible by Rotarian contributions to CART. She shared that this program started by Rotarians gave a $100,000 grant in its early years, and this year will award more than $1,000,000 in grants. Charlene and Robert Hall pledged to match up to $1,000 in contributions to CART from Dunwoody Rotarians and the Club. If you'd like to contribute, you can make your donation to the Dunwoody Rotary Charitable Fund and we will be sure it gets to CART. Let Cathie Brumfield know if you would like to make a pledge.
