Club used District Grant funds to partner with Communities in Schools for their Parent Expo. The Club donated 500 book bags to distribute to students with financial need. The Club provided volunteers to stuff the book bags with school supplies, set up the venue, have a Rotary tent on site the day of the event, and assisted with venue clean up.
Club sponsors the Adopt-A-Highway program in Henry County. On a quarterly basis, various groups will clean up assigned stretched of public roads in the community. Our club manages and participates with clean up of our assigned one mile stretch of Highway 81E.
Club partnered with FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children) to collect used durable medical equipment to be refurbished and then donated to those with disabilities and financial need. The drive collected almost $200,000 in used durable medical equipment on Saturday August 25, 2018 in both donations dropped off and by club volunteers who picked up equipment from people's homes who could not physically deliver to drop off location. Extremely successful first drive that our club will make an annual event going forward. The local newspaper ran a feature on this drive.
Club partnered with Operation Lunchbox to donate food items and pack bags of nonperishable foods for school children who would otherwise not have anything to eat on the weekends. These kids usually only have the school provided breakfast and lunch and may not have food for dinner or the weekends. Club members packed bags on two occasions totaling 2000.
